Are you looking for an ideal working holiday job? One that lets you earn extra cash for your travels, but still get time to enjoy yourself? Dashing with DoorDash can help to build up cash for your next amazing Aussie experience.

Wait, what’s DoorDash?

DoorDash is Australia’s fastest-growing delivery app, with awesome perks & benefits for delivery drivers (called Dashers). It’s not just food, either – customers can order groceries and other essentials from local stores, as well as meals and snacks.

Dash while you travel

The best part about being a Dasher is that it’s super flexible. You are your own boss, so you get to decide your schedule. Hit the beach during the day and dash around dinner time. Or dash the lunch rush and meet up with friends in the evening. Dash one day and sightsee the next – it’s totally up to you.

DoorDash operates in all major cities as well as many other regional towns across Australia, so you don’t need to look for a new job when you move on to a new place. Simply open your app and start dashing – and suddenly you’re getting paid to learn your way around!

Getting started

You’ll need to be at least 18, have a smartphone (iOS or Android) and a legal right to work in Australia to become a Dasher. Since Dashers are independent contractors, you’ll also need an Australia Business Number (ABN). You can get an ABN for free in just a few minutes.

Step 1: Get signed up

We’ll need your name, Australian phone number, email, ABN and bank account details. We’ll also ask you for your ID and visa documents for a background check. This is completely free, and will just take a few days to come through.

Once your background check and right to work have been processed, you’ll be activated straight away and you can start your first Dash!

Step 2: Get some wheels

You can dash with a bike, car, scooter or motorbike, and you can also easily switch vehicles at a tap in the Dasher app.

With a car, you’ll have access to longer distance dashes. Plus, if you’re planning a road trip, you’ll be able to dash in any city where DoorDash operates. But if you don’t have a car, don’t worry. Many Dashers use a bike or scooter for local dashes, and it’s often way easier because you don’t have to worry about parking!

We recommend renting an e-bike if you don’t have your own transport. They're efficient and environmentally friendly – and as a Dasher, you can get special discounts with Zoomo. For example, if you sign up and start dashing before the end of June 2022, you’ll get your first 2 weeks Zoomo e-bike rental absolutely free, then 10% discount on your weekly subscription.

Step 3: Get earning

Once you’re activated, simply open the Dasher app to start your first dash! As a new Dasher, you’ll get a 14-day trial of Top Dasher status, which lets you dash at any time and get priority on available dashes.

If you’re available at the busiest times, you can get paid more per delivery. You’ll see those dashes marked as “Peak Pay” and with up to $4.50 more per order, it’s a smart way to get the most out of dashing.

The Dasher app lets you keep track of your earnings, and you get paid weekly into your bank account.

Ready, set, dash!

It’s quick and easy to get on the road as a Dasher. Get started today and secure your special Dasher benefits.
