Safety is a year-round commitment at DoorDash, but each June, we get to bring it front and center for the Dasher community. This year’s Safety Awareness Month was our third and most expansive yet. For the first time, we expanded our focus beyond in-app features to include insurance readiness and coverage awareness, because protecting yourself on the road means more than just using the right tools.
Read on to see how we showed up for Dashers in June 2026.
Expanded this year: safety meets insurance

This year, Safety Awareness Month went further than ever, spotlighting something Dashers have asked about: insurance coverage while delivering. We partnered with State Farm to help Dashers understand what coverage applies while on a dash, where gaps may exist, and how to protect themselves and their earnings.
Whether you’ve been dashing for years or are just getting started, knowing your coverage is part of staying safe.
Complete actions. Win rewards.
This June, we ran the Safety Awareness Sweepstakes, giving Dashers the chance to engage with key safety actions and earn the chance to win one of twenty $500 prizes. Congrats to our winners and everyone who took the time to enable Location Sharing, add a trusted contact, verify auto coverage and deliver during Safety Awareness Month.
Want to dash smarter and safer? Our safety features are available year-round.
Gear up: the Safety Swag Bundles
Feeling safe on a delivery isn’t only about what’s in the app, but also what you have with you, which is why we offered two discounted Safety Swag Bundles through the Dasher Gear Store that featured items such as the Red Birdie Alarm, flashlights and more.
The Birdie remains a Dasher favorite, a compact personal alarm that gives you an extra layer of confidence on every delivery.
You can find more swag, including our favorite safety items, on the Dasher Gear Store.
Torrance Dasher Day: showing up in person

Safety is a community commitment, and this June we proved it by showing up in person.
We hosted a Safety Awareness Dasher Day at the Torrance DashMart on June 3. More than 100 Dashers joined us on the day for two dedicated stations:
Coverage Check Station: State Farm partner reps were on-site to answer questions, help Dashers understand what insurance applies while delivering, and offer personalized guidance.
Dasher Recharge Stations: Water, snacks, games, and Safety Swag — including caps, belt bags, and window clings.
Seeing over 100 Dashers stop by, ask questions, and connect with our team face-to-face was a great reminder of what this kind of showing up can do. We're looking forward to bringing more of these moments to the Dasher community.
We heard you

One of the most valuable parts of Dasher Day is hearing directly from you. Here’s some of the things Dashers shared:
Clearer drop-off instructions: Dashers asked for customers to be prompted for clearer addresses and entrance details, especially at multi-entrance apartment complexes.
Night visibility gear: Dashers want high-visibility vests and lighting equipment for after-dark deliveries.
Vehicle repair support: Dashers asked for easier access to help when accidents happen during a dash — whether that’s coverage support or connections to certified repair stations.
Your feedback helps improve the dashing experience. Thank you for sharing it.
One month of spotlight. 365 days of commitment.
Safety Awareness Month is one month, but our commitment to Dasher safety is year-round. Every feature and resource spotlighted during June lives in your app 365 days a year — and we’re always working to add more.
We’re proud of everything we built together in 2026, and we’re already planning something even better for next year.
Keep an eye out for what’s coming, and in the meantime, browse the Dasher Blog for more safety stories and tips from the road.
