You're the boss. As an independent contractor, you have the flexibility and freedom to drive when it works for your schedule.
DoorDash offers a variety of delivery jobs, from restaurant pick-ups to grocery shopping and even convenience or flower shops!
You can make it full-time, part-time, or once in a while. It's a great alternative to seasonal, temporary, and part-time work.
Nope! You don't need any prior work experience. But if you do have previous experience in the rideshare, food, or courier service industries, delivering with DoorDash is a great way to earn money or make extra cash.
We welcome drivers, bikers and cyclists from other gig economy or commercial services such as Uber Eats, Amazon Flex, Deliveroo. Dashers come from all backgrounds and industries, and include catering drivers, truck drivers, taxi drivers and hospitality or retail workers. Dashing is a great supplement to hourly roster jobs.
With delivery, there are two big differences:
You don't have passengers in your car
You can use any mode of transportation: your car (two doors is fine), bicycle, or motorcycle
It’s also a bit more active than ridesharing, as you get in/out of your car/bike to pick up and deliver the food.
Once you receive a delivery or task opportunity, you'll see where it is and how much you'll make, and can choose to accept or reject it. Once you accept, there are generally three steps, all of which are clearly outlined in the Driver app:
Drive to the restaurant or store
Pick up the food or goods. For grocery shopping orders, pick and pack the items.
Drive to the customer to drop off the food or goods.
