Peace of mind while dashing is essential. That includes knowing that you can easily get help when you need it. And while we hope every delivery goes smoothly, we’ve got your back if things don’t go as planned. That’s why we built our safety toolkit — to make getting on the road even safer for Dashers.

Learn more about our in-app safety features:

Safety Reassurance Call

Get in touch with an agent from ADT* (the leading security company in the U.S.) who will stay on the phone with you or alert 911 services with critical details like your location.

Emergency Assistance Button

If you need help fast, just swipe right. ADT* will silently send police, fire, or ambulance services and share your location.

"I love the direction you’re going with this because I’ve been in situations where I’ve felt uncomfortable. Dashers like me will really appreciate all these tools. It’s certainly a step in the right direction, and shows that DoorDash is here to help."

-Eddy M.
Cranberry Township, PA

SafeDash™ Check-In

If we detect that a dash is taking longer than expected, we’ll automatically check in to see if you’re okay. If you ever feel unsafe and need quick help, you can easily connect with ADT* or 911 Assistance from the app.**

SafeChat

We’ll screen chat communications with customers for any offensive language, and give you the option to report an issue or unassign from the delivery.

Real-Time Safety Alerts

During a delivery or task you’ll get real-time notifications from samdesk, a global crisis detection platform that provides 24/7 monitoring, about any possibly unsafe situations nearby, in cities where we operate.

“I’m so happy that you’ve taken the time and commitment to deliver these features. It gives me such peace of mind, and really shows how DoorDash cares about us.”

-Kimberly G.
North York, ON

Safety Reporting

If you ever feel unsafe during and after a customer interaction, you can easily report it to a Safety Agent, and even opt out of future deliveries to that customer.

Porch Light Reminders

To make it easier to find delivery addresses at night, we’ll send customers notifications requesting that they turn on their exterior lights.

Stay tuned as our Trust & Safety Team continues to build out safety measures to help you dash with confidence.
