Dash with confidence
Peace of mind while dashing is essential. That includes knowing that you can easily get help when you need it. And while we hope every delivery goes smoothly, we’ve got your back if things don’t go as planned. That’s why we built our safety toolkit — to make getting on the road even safer for Dashers.
How much can I earn?

Base Pay
You’ll always earn Base Pay for any delivery. Base Pay is calculated based on the estimated time, distance, and desirability of the order.

Plus Tips
Customers using DoorDash can tip you anytime you choose to accept a delivery — and most deliveries include a tip. You’ll always receive 100% of the customer tips received by DoorDash.

Plus Promotions
Promotions like Peak Pay and Challenges help you earn more per delivery when it’s busy. Challenges let you earn extra money for completing a certain number of deliveries in a set amount of time.
Dasher Gear
After your first dash, we'll send you a Dasher activation kit that contains items like a food warming bag, Red Card, hand sanitizer, and mask for Dasher safety.
Since no two people have the same taste in gear, there’s an online store so you can get the gear and equipment you want.

Requirements
Age

Frequently asked questions
Millions of people order food and other goods through DoorDash. When customers place an order, we offer the deliveries to Dashers, who earn money by picking up and delivering them.
DoorDash is available in over 7,000 cities in all 50 U.S. states, including Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico; over 80 cities in Canada; and Melbourne, Australia and New Zealand!
Our signup process takes just a few minutes, and most Dashers can start earning within days.
To earn money, all you need is a smartphone and a mode of transportation, such as a car, bike, scooter, or motorcycle. We'll take care of everything else!
Nope. You can use any car to drive, deliver, and earn. You just need a valid driver's license and insurance.
Just tap the 'Already started signing up?' button at the top of this page, and log in using the email address and phone number you used to sign up.
If you're not quite finished, we'll prompt you for missing information. Otherwise you'll see the status of your signup.
You're the boss. As an independent contractor, you have the freedom to drive whenever you want, wherever you want.
You can dash whenever you want, meaning you are in control of how many hours you want to dash per day or per week -- and you can dash practically anywhere. It's a great alternative to seasonal, temporary, and part-time work.
Nope! You don't need any prior work experience. But if you do have previous experience in the rideshare, food, or courier service industries, delivering with DoorDash is a great way to earn money.
We welcome drivers and bikers from other gig economy or commercial services such as UberEats, Postmates, Lyft, Caviar, Eat24, Google Express, GrubHub, AmazonFresh, Instacart, Amazon, Uber, Waitr, and Bite Squad. Dashers come from all backgrounds and industries, and include catering drivers, truck drivers, and taxi drivers.
With delivery, there are two big differences:
You don't have passengers in your car
You can use any mode of transportation: your car (two doors is fine), bicycle, or motorcycle
It’s also a bit more active than ridesharing, as you get in/out of your car/bike to pick up and deliver the food.
Once you receive a delivery opportunity, you'll see where it is and what you'll make, and can choose to accept or reject it. Once you accept, there are generally three steps, all of which are clearly outlined in the Driver app:
Drive to the restaurant
Pick up the food
Drive to the customer to drop off the food
Actual earnings may differ and depend on factors like number of deliveries accepted and completed, time of day, location, and any related costs. Hourly pay is calculated using average Dasher payouts while on a delivery (from the time you accept an order until the time you drop it off) over a 90 day period and includes compensation from peak pay, tips, and other incentives.
