Dash with confidence

Peace of mind while dashing is essential. That includes knowing that you can easily get help when you need it. And while we hope every delivery goes smoothly, we’ve got your back if things don’t go as planned. That’s why we built our safety toolkit — to make getting on the road even safer for Dashers.

Dasher Gear

After your first dash, we'll send you a Dasher activation kit that contains items like a food warming bag and a Red Card.

Since no two people have the same taste in gear, there’s an online store so you can get the gear and equipment you want.

Frequently asked questions

Every day, people across the U.S. order food and other goods through DoorDash. When a customer places an order, we offer the delivery to nearby Dashers, who earn money picking up and dropping it off.

DoorDash is available in over 7,000 cities across the U.S. — from major hubs like Houston, Chicago, and Los Angeles to growing markets including Philadelphia, Charlotte, Birmingham, Memphis, Kansas City, Portland, Boston, Washington, D.C., Knoxville, Omaha, and Boise.

Signing up in the U.S. takes just a few minutes, and most Dashers start earning within days of being approved.

To earn money as a Dasher in the U.S., all you need is a smartphone and a mode of transportation: a car, bike, scooter, or motorcycle. We'll take care of the rest.

Nope. You can use any car to deliver and earn in the U.S. You just need a valid driver's license and insurance.

Just tap “Already started signing up?” at the top of this page and log in with the email and phone number you used to sign up for your U.S. Dasher account. If anything's missing, we'll let you know — otherwise, you'll see your current status.

You're the boss. As an independent contractor in the U.S., you decide when, where, and how much you dash — a flexible way to earn, with no seasonal, temporary, or part-time schedule required.

Nope! No prior experience is required. If you've worked in rideshare, food delivery, grocery delivery, or courier services, delivering with DoorDash is a great way to keep earning. Dashers come from all backgrounds and industries, including catering, truck, and taxi driving.

We welcome drivers and bikers from other gig economy or commercial services such as UberEats, Postmates, Lyft, Caviar, Eat24, Google Express, GrubHub, AmazonFresh, Instacart, Amazon, Uber, Waitr, and Bite Squad. Dashers come from all backgrounds and industries, and include catering drivers, truck drivers, and taxi drivers.

With delivery, there are two big differences: you don't carry passengers, and you can use any mode of transportation — a car (two doors is fine), bike, or motorcycle. It's a bit more active than rideshare, since you get in and out of your vehicle to pick up and drop off orders across the U.S.

Once you receive a delivery or task opportunity, you'll see where it is and what you'll make, and can choose to accept or reject it. Once you accept, there are generally three steps, all of which are clearly outlined in the Driver app:

  1. Drive to the restaurant

  2. Pick up the food

  3. Drive to the customer to drop off the food
